Gum/Flap Surgery (Surgical Pocket Removal)

rezanj-operacija
When the periodontic disease progresses beyond plaque removal and classic treatment of periodontal pockets, the next step is a surgical removal. By the surgical intervention (flap surgery), a cut is made in the gums which are then lifted in the form of a flap to create a very good access to the periodontal pocket, in order to allow for the complete removal of pathologically altered tissue. In cases of severe bone destruction and the presence of deep infrabony pockets, where possible, we compensate for defects with the artificial bone in the form of granules. After performed surgery, gingiva is sewn up and the stitches are removed after about ten days. The intervention is painless and is performed under local anesthesia.
