Surgical pocket removal

When parodontopathy progresses beyond tartar removal and classic treatment of periodontal pockets, the next step is a surgical removal. By surgical intervention (flap surgery), a cut is made in the gingiva which is then lifted in the form of a flap to create a good access to the periodontal pocket, in order to allow for the complete removal of pathologically altered tissue under direct eye control. In cases of severe bone destruction and the presence of deep infrabony pockets, where possible, we compensate for defects with the artificial bone in the form of granules. After performed surgery, gingiva is sewn up and the stitches are removed after about ten days. The intervention is painless and is performed under local anesthesia.
